Graffiti concerns raised in the Council chamber
Mark took Heaton (and citywide) residents concerns over graffiti to the Civic Centre asking a public question at the council meeting.
Mark Ridyard, Jude Browne and Andrew Rakowski lead the Focus team for Heaton. They work hard throughout the year to address local problems and issues and to ensure that the voices of Heaton's residents are heard in the Council Chamber.
The Focus Team listens to local people's concerns and issues and keep in touch through regular Focus newsletters throughout the year. In addition the team now use this web page to keep people informed about what is happening across the ward.
Mark, Jude and Andrew work closely with the 22 strong Liberal Democrats Official Opposition Group on Newcastle City Council, holding the current Labour administration to account and pressing for change to improve our area and the wider city.

Mark also fights for our area more broadly and was the candidate for Newcastle East and Wallsend at the 2024 General Election. Time and time again the Liberal Democrats have been the first to demand change, from a Windfall tax on energy companies, to a Gaza ceasefire and stopping Sewage in our rivers and seas. Lib Dems are the ones campaigning to save our NHS and to bring Social care and Mental Health services on to an equal footing.

A local resident got in touch asking for help to get the no loading markings repainted on Holderness Road. A few calls with the council team, helped get clear on the problem and then they did a great job of getting it resolved.
