Great Park Needs a Health Centre
Petition calling for a health centre for Newcastle Great Park
9,000 residents must travel to Brunton Park, Gosforth, Ponteland or Dinnington to see a GP. “This is unacceptable,” said Lib Dem campaigner David Down, “residents of the Great Park have the right to good local health care.
They’ve waited in the past for shops and schools and cannot be expected to wait again for a health centre.”
Local Lib Dem, Dr Dhanji Singh, an Emergency Care consultant, added; “The Labour Government talks about neighbourhood health, but nothing has happened in our area. Too many people end up in accident and emergency because they can’t get a GP appointment. We urgently need a local health centre”.
Newcastle Liberal Democrats are calling on the Council and the regional Integrated Care Board to do what they said they would 25 years ago when planning permission was granted, and build a neighbourhood health centre in the Great Park.
Great Park Needs a Health Centre
We the undersigned, residents of the Great Park call on Newcastle City Council and the Integrated Care Board to work together to find a suitable site and the necessary funding to get our health centre built.
