Walbottle Tip

It's time for action to end congestion at the tip

Lib Dem by-election candidate Stephen Kelly is calling on the Council to take measures to stop traffic congestion at the Walbottle Road tip.

"I can't count the number of residents who have told me how mad they are about traffic chaos at the tip which which backs up onto the street causing huge congestion.

"People's frustration at queueing for the tip has undoubtably increased fly-tipping.

"I know we need a good waste disposal system locally but what we currently have is not fit for purpose.

"The Lib Dems now run the council. That gives us a real opportunity to get stricter penalties for fly-tippers, better traffic management, and long term a potential relocation of the tip.

"If elected, I will be in those meetings, to keep this fight going and get the results we deserve," said Stephen.
