Your Focus Team

Councillor David Down and campaigners Dhananjay Singh and Richard Morris

Working hard for The Great Park, Brunswick & Hazlerigg all year round

Councillor David Down is the Liberal Democrat councillor for Castle ward, elected in May 2026. Campaigners Dhananjay and Richard make up the rest of your Castle Focus Team.

The Focus Team are always out and about speaking to residents across the ward.

Key issues for the team are: getting the Council to fix our broken roads and pavements, maintaining our precious green spaces, adoption of the Great Park and other new housing estates in Hazlerigg.

David is also part of the 25 strong Liberal Democrats Group on Newcastle City Council, who lead the Council as a minority administration.
