Graffitied phone boxes removed - years of pressure pays off.

Since 2024, following a request from people at John Dobson House, your Lib Dem team have been campaigning to clean up and ideally remove the graffitied phone boxes around Heaton.

During 2025 the BT team went around and cleaned them all, but they were quickly graffitied again, so we kept pushing for removal.

In the last few weeks, the phone boxes on Chillingham Rd / Cartington Terrace and Chillingham Rd / Seventh Avenue and Heaton Road / Heaton Grove have been removed, which is great news. Testament to the effort your team puts in.

The BT team say that the rest need to remain as they are still "well used" and so we will keep pushing them to keep them tidy, and maybe remove them in the future as usage changes.
