WORK STARTS ON NEW KNOPLAW PRIMARY SCHOOL

Work has started to build the new Knoplaw Primary School on Chapel House.

Councillors recently attended a silver spade ceremony to mark the construction of the new building, which is expected to open in September 2010.

Councillor Sharon Middleton said: "The demolition phase of the project was noisy and caused a lot of dust.

"We checked with the planners to make sure that everything was being done to reduce this.

"Now that the main building is going up, this problem shouldn't happen again, but we'll keep a close eye on the project."
