The Centre for Cities has just reported that Sunderland is one of the top 10 UK cities with the highest share of exports to the EU. John, Lord Shipley said :

"These figures show exports to Europe are absolutely critical to great manufacturing cities in the North East like Sunderland and Newcastle.

"This Tory Brexit government is threatening local jobs and prosperity through its reckless plans to pull Britain out of the Single Market.

"Whether they voted leave or remain, it's crucial people get a say over what happens next.

"The Liberal Democrats will fight to hold this government to account and give the public the final say on the Brexit deal."
