Pride flag raised at Civic Centre for Pride Month 2026

Lord Mayor Henry Gallagher raises Pride flag at Civic Centre

The Pride Flag is flying proudly above Newcastle Civic Centre.

Cllr Rob Austin, Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities & Youth Services, said:

“Newcastle is a city that welcomes everyone. Flying the Pride Flag sends a clear message that our LGBT+ communities are valued, respected and celebrated. We’re proud to stand up for equality, inclusion and the right for everyone to be themselves.” 

Lord Mayor Henry Gallagher (Liberal Democrat, Dene and South Gosforth) led the raising of the Pride flag at Civic Centre.
