Pothole and Pavement repairs raised in the Council Chamber

Barbara Down drew attention to this at tonight's City Council Meeting.

"Residents of Kingston Park and Dinnington are constantly telling me about potholes across the ward. Even where potholes are repaired, the repairs only last a few weeks, and often one pothole is repaired, while one only a few meters away is not. What are the council’s plans to finally address both the number of potholes across Newcastle and the quality of repairs?" She also referred to the state of pavements in the ward: "Potholes are a big issue for residents, but the state of our pavements is even worse. As only one example, the pavements on Sycamore Avenue in Dinnington are in a shocking state. Badly maintained pavements impact parents, wheelchair users, and others with mobility issues. Newcastle must get better at pavement repairs."
