NEWS IN BRIEF FROM DINNINGTON

:: Footpaths

The footpaths on Horton Crescent and Havvanah Crescent have been resurfaced while work is planned for Brenkley Close next.

Meanwhile, the cobbles at the junction of Brenkley Close and Main Road are to be removed and the road layout improved.

:: Banks Mining

Banks has received permission to start mining north of Brenkley. The site will be accessed via the current access at Blagdon. As a result of the planning approval they will be setting up the liaison committee to work with residents and local groups.

:: Youth clubs

Youth and play services are currently undergoing a review and this will look at how services are delivered and who delivers them.

Currently the village is served by staff based at the Gala Field in Woolsington Ward.

Councillor Anita Lower said: "We have met with the youth and paly senior officers to discuss what are the best options for young people in Dinnington."

:: Fencing

YHN has started work to continue the metal fencing around the land adjacent to Dinnington Library.

:: Traffic calming

There is currently a consultation being carried out with residents about further traffic calming in March Terrace.

Once views have been received the Lib Dem council will be looking to carry out further works.
