LOCAL PRIMARY SCHOOL WINS NATIONAL ADVISORY ROLE

22 Feb 2010

A local primary school has been selected for a top national role helping other schools to improve - alongside only 75 other schools around the country.

Beech Hill Primary has been named a National Support School by the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services.

Head Nicola Nelson-Taylor was also named a National Leader in Education.

The government-backed scheme sees Nicola and her staff supporting schools in challenging circumstances.

Councillor Graham Middleton: "This is a tremendous honour for the school and shows what excellent work is being done by staff and students alike. My congratulations to everyone involved with the school."
