The Lib Dem council has delivered the impressive new award-winning City Library and has improved or
rebuilt local libraries including High Heaton, Gosforth and Benwell. Unlike Labour-run cities, the Lib Dem
council is keeping all the city's branch libraries open despite the national budget cuts - Labour closed
down several when they last ran Newcastle.
