"Inhuman, disrespectful and disgusting" body parts scandal - Lib Dems call for full inquiry

Liberal Democrats Shadow Health Secretary Norman Lamb MP has called for "a full inquiry" into why hundreds of tonnes of human body parts and medical waste from NHS hospitals has been left to rot.

The call comes after the Health Minister confirmed that Healthcare Environmental Services, the firm responsible, has been stripped of NHS contracts.

Dr Wendy Taylor, seen here with Norman Lamb, commented "There needs to be a full inquiry into this nauseating debacle. As well as being potentially dangerous, it is inhuman, disrespectful and disgusting.

"The NHS has done the right thing in cancelling the contract with Healthcare Environmental Services, but the Health Secretary must still explain how this could ever have happened in the first place."
