DOCTORS' SURGERY PLANS ARE WITHDRAWN

The recent planning application to extend the doctors' surgery at The Grove has been withdrawn by the applicant.
A number of residents and the East Gosforth Ward councillors had opposed the application.
Councillor Peter Leggott said: "We anticipate a further application will be made within the next year.
"We will want to study the application in detail but unless it addresses the parking and traffic problems on The Grove, it is unlikely that we could support it.
"We will keep residents informed on developments."
