Councillors Henry and Wendy recently took part in a ward walkabout with the council’s EPiC (Empowering People in Communities) Team to get a closer look at local issues and hear directly from residents.

The walk started on Lealholm Road and continued around the tram tracks, Benton Road, Four Lane Ends, and Benton Park Road. During the visit, they discussed a range of concerns, including anti-social behaviour, graffiti, and electric motorbikes being ridden too fast and without insurance. They also addressed issues familiar to many residents, such as nuisance parking.

The councillors also took the opportunity to highlight positive community initiatives, including the work of regular litter-picking groups, showing how local residents are helping to make the area cleaner and safer.

Henry and Wendy will be meeting with the EPiC Team again soon to walk the other half of the ward, covering the South Gosforth and High West Jesmond areas, ensuring that they can continue to hear and respond to local concerns.
