Campaign to save Boots the Chemist in Kenton

Boots the Chemist have announced plans to close their branch at Kenton Retail on Halewood Road next year. 

Rob Austin and the Kenton Liberal Democrats Team are concerned that the closure would make it much more difficult for local residents, particularly patients atending the General Practices at Betts Avenue Medical Centre and the Hillsview Surgery, to fill their prescriptions. Many residents would face a twenty minute walk or a bus ride to reach an alternative chemist.

So the Kenton Focus Team have started a petition to the North of Tyne Local Pharmaceutical Committee and Newcastle Health and Wellbeing Board to seek assurances that they will ensure a pharmacy service is continued locally should Boots close.
