Ron Beadle is the Liberal Democrat prospective MP for Newcastle North.He has a record of action in Newcastle after fighting to improve health services locally, leading the campaign to save our post offices from closure and now he is campaigning to give 999 patients a choice of where they are treated. With the Conservatives out of the race in Newcastle, more and more people are turning to Ron and the Liberal Democrats to end years of Labour neglect. An academic at Northumbria University, Ron has worked in Newcastle for 18 years having returned to the North East where his paternal roots can be traced back to the early 1700s. Ron was brought up in London and educated at Westminster City School and the London School of Economics. He has published books and papers for the Social Market Foundation and for a range of academic journals specialising in issues of pay, public sector management and workplace ethics. Ron has been Councillor for Low Fell in Gateshead since 1996. He is married to Shakun and they have two children, Roshan and Sophia. IMPROVEMENTS MADE TO LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTRE. Work is being carried out to improve Newburn Community Centre. Sat 27th Feb 2010: COUNCIL REJECTS 'LITTLE GREEN' PLANNING APPLICATION. The city council has rejected a planning application to turn the Little Green in South Gosforth into a private car park. Winter isn't over yet and may still bite but we're already looking at any lessons learned from the worst Christmas and January weather for 30 years. Although the bad weather delayed the planned work in North Kenton Park, trees have now been cut back and the space opened up ahead of the installation of new play equipment. The city council has unveiled a list of roads and pavements that are likely to be replaced in the coming 12 months. Transport operator Nexus is to launch a consultation on bus services across Newcastle. RESIDENTS URGED TO USE LOCAL DOCTOR'S SURGERY. Local residents are being urged to use the GPs surgery that operates from the Lemington Centre. MINIBUSES 20th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED.
