4.24.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 10th Sep 2008

Parents and children from Beech Hill Primary School are campaigning for a new footpath to be installed at the school. Councillor Peter Arnold recently presented a presented a 160 name petition on the parents' behalf.

They are asking for a small footpath to be provided from the lights on West Denton Way to link up with another footpath on route to the school in Linhope Road.

Councillor Peter Arnold says: "This footpath would improve road safety and hopefully encourage more parents to walk their children to school. We will keep you updated."
