:: VILLAGE SPEED SURVEY TO BE CARRIED OUT

A traffic speed survey is to be carried out in Brunswick Village by the city council following concerns about road safety.

Local residents have contacted the Lib Dem Focus Team concerned at the speed some motorists are travelling through the village.

Councillor Ian Laverick explains: "We have asked the council to carry out the survey with a view to installing traffic calming in the village.

"Hopefully this will help cut the traffic speed and reduce accidents. We will keep you informed of progress."

:: NEW PAVILION FUNDING WORK CONTINUES

The councillors and council are continuing to investigate ways of funding a replacement for Brunswick Pavilion.

:: CASTLE WARD GRANTS

The Ward Committee has approved a £1000 grant to the Brunswick Pavilion to pay for new cleaning equipment.

After a request from the Parish Council, a £1585 grant has been given for a new local notice board.
