LAWRENCE LAUNCHES SPEED LIMIT CAMPAIGN

12.00.00am GMT Tue 12th Feb 2008

Lemington Lib Dems have asked the council to clear up a speed limit anomaly on Union Hall Road when Hillhead Road becomes a 30mph zone.

Currently Union Hall Road is a 30mph zone except for the stretch from the A69 roundabout to Hospital Lane. Soon the speed limit along the length on Hillhead Road will be cut to 30mph.

It would mean that driving from Stamfordham Road in Westerhope to Tyne View in Lemington there would be 30mph speed limit - except for the stretch of road between the A69 junction and Hospital Lane.

Lawrence says: "Cutting the speed limit on Hillhead Road is a very good idea, so I have asked the council to consider doing the same on this stretch of Union Hall Road as well - it can only improve road safety."
